The TOP-Energy team is pleased to announce the release of its first practical video series. This series has been specifically designed to introduce users to the basics of energy optimization using the software of the same name. With 39 easy-to-follow videos, the series provides practical step-by-step instructions on how to perform simulations and exercises. It is aimed at both beginners and advanced users and serves as a valuable training tool for deepening specialist knowledge.
From theory to practice: insight into real applications
Using a concrete example—the GFaI building, the headquarters of the development team in the Berlin-Adlershof Technology Park, sales engineer Tim Meyer explains in German how various energy concepts and strategies can be implemented. After an introduction to the program interface, precise location determination and the integration of weather data to increase efficiency, the learners begin with the variant analysis. Here they examine whether photovoltaic systems on the roof of the GFaI are worthwhile or whether it makes sense to add a heat pump. The question if storing surplus electricity from the PV system is lucrative is also discussed.
Optimize the next 24 hours with look-ahead
The video Comparing Variants takes a look at the ecological and economic assessment. Key questions are, for example, „How quickly do the investments in future-oriented technologies pay for themselves?“ and „How much CO2 can be saved through the measures?“ Storage loading and unloading strategies are compared by using switch-on sequences and look-ahead optimization. The focus here is on the interpretation of the results. Another highlight is the Parameter Study. These sensitivity analyses examine how parameter changes affect selected KPIs.
In the video series, the TOP-Energy team places particular emphasis on the independent verification of results. It addresses error analyses in simulations in order to help users to identify and rectify potential problems more easily. This promotes a deeper understanding and supports more efficient use of thesoftware.
